Senior and National Team Bottle and Can Drive thru 7/20

Attention All Stingray Parents and Friends

The Senior and National Team are having a Bottle and Can Drive until 7/20.   We need your help raising money for the Summer National Team and with purchasing an underwater camera for the team.   If you have any bottles or cans hanging around, could you donate them to the team?   We would be willing to pick them up or you could drop them off atthe Doepkers, or with Coach Bennetts and we will return them.   We could even meet you at the YMCA if you are going to work out!   Please call or email to let us know if you are willing to help.

OLY 2008 Open 400 Psych Sheets

Coaches, Meet Entry Chairs, and Parents and Swimmers,

The open 400 Free psych sheets are now posted on the OLY website at www.olyswim.com. To comply with the Michigan Swimming timeline of four hours per session, both the girls and boys open 400 Free events will be limited to seven (7) heats each. Any swimmer bumped from these events will receive a refund.

As noted in the meet document, there will be a separate open/senior 400 Free check-in. Check-in for these two (2) events, #43 and #44, will be by 2 PM on Saturday. Although the 400 Free is swum on Sunday morning, the Saturday check-in will allow swimmers on the wait list to replace scratches or to pick up their refunds.

If you know ahead of the meet, please email me the names of any swimmers who will not be swimming in these two events. Continue to check the OLY website because updates to the 400 free psych sheets will be posted daily as scratches come in. Also, please make arrangements to check-in any swimmers who will not be swimming in the Saturday sessions.

DRD Freeze or Fry 400IM Meet Change

In order to comply with MS four hour rule, we are moving the 400IM to a separate session to be held Saturday evening, warm up starting at 5pm, events starting at 5:30pm.

This is only for events 47, 48, 49, and 50 -- 13-14 Girls and Boys 400 IM and Open Girls and Boys 400 IM.  Check in for these events will be from 4:30pm to 5:15pm.

Refunds will be offered to swimmers who do not wish to compete in these events at the new start times. We must receive notification of swimmers requesting a refund by June 13, 2008. Notification should be sent to:

Refunds for those requesting by June 13 will be available at the clerk of course at the meet.

This Friday our apparel pre-orders will close -- if you are interested in ordering T-shirts, please contact Barb Pearson before Friday (see order form in meet packet for details).  We will have very limited apparel available at the meet.

Friday, July 4:   NO PRACTICES FOR ALL GROUPS.

OLY Meet Note

Coaches, Meet Entry Chairs, and Parents,

The OLY Meet has officially closed on Thursday, May 22, 2008.  We cannot add any new swimmers or events unless the entries will not create new heats.  We will continue to accept seed time updates until 10 PM, June 3, 2008 as stated in the meet document.

In order to accommodate all the teams who have entered and accept all entries, we have made some adjustments to the format of the meet:
We have been granted permission from Michigan Swimming to move the 12 & under girls and boys 200 IM from Friday night's session to Sunday afternoon's session.  These are events #5 and #6 and they will be swum after the relays at the end of the Sunday afternoon session.  Swimmers will have the option of swimming five (5) individual events plus a relay in this session.  If they choose not to swim the 200 IM at that time, they will be reimbursed the $4 event fee.

To meet the timeline constraint in the Sunday morning session, the 13 & up girls and boys 400 free will be limited to seven (7) heats each gender.  The 13 & up 400 free psych sheets will be posted on the OLY website in the next few days.  Any swimmer who is bumped has the option of entering another event in the same session or of being reimbursed the $4 event fee.  I will email you again when the psych sheets are posted. If you know a swimmer is not going to swim any of these events, than please notify us so we can give others a chance to swim.  All entry fees for those that do not swim these events will be refunded at the clerk of course.

Practice for Senior and Gold is being moved to NORTH FARMINGTON.
Same times, just a different location.
No changes for Silver, Bronze and Miniray.

No practice on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th.

Friday, June 13
All groups will be practicing at the YMCA times are TBD.

We start the summer schedule on Monday, June 16.
Remember no practice on Friday, July 4th!
